Scripps Pier underwater camera March 3 2026

Visibility is currently around 5 ft, based on the latest Scripps Pier camera image. Only the nearest piling at 4 ft is clearly visible, while the middle piling at 11 ft appears soft and hazy. The back piling is not visible.

This level of clarity lines up with recent swell and moderate wind chop stirring up sediment, combined with elevated chlorophyll from an early spring plankton bloom. Surface conditions appear bumpy with surface texture, which is limiting visibility from reaching its full potential.

Good day not to dive!

Estimated Visibility: 8-12 ft
